Number 1: Nepal
Nepal are simply the best up and coming cricketing nation. When there national side plays at home (featured on the right) crowds are in the 15 000's, they have a great coach in former Sri Lanka test cricketer Pubudu Dassanayake, he is transforming the national side into a very good cricket nation, in Nepal the local population has taking to the game with flying colours street cricket is a common sight in Nepal and with great development programs and great facilities Nepal are a fast rising cricketing nation. Just look at there recent results they finished 7th out of 16 teams in the T20 qualifier this year and recently went through Division 4 undefeated. There u19 side also finished 13th at the recent u19 CWC.
Number 2: Papua New Guinea (PNG)
PNG are the second best up and coming cricket nation. Cricket is a very popular sport in PNG especially in the village of Hanuabada were a large majority of PNG's cricketers come from. Street cricket is a very common sight there and children have really taken to the game, just look at there development program the BSP school cricket program. This program has been recognised by the ICC as the best in the Associate and affiliate world with more playing numbers then Australia. PNG have great facilities now with there "home of cricket" amini park sports complex having 2 turf wicket grounds. They are now being coach by Peter Anderson a former Australian domestic cricket but also have Greg Campbell on board as general manager. PNG finished 8th out of 16 teams at the t20 qualifier and 3rd in ICC world cricket league division 2 and are ranked 19th in the world for ODI cricket. There u19 side is currently ranked 14th in the world.
Number 3: Namibia
Namibia are a very under the radar up and coming cricketing nation, people often forget they made the 2003 CWC at senior level. Namibia compete in the South African domestic competition which is doing them a world of good. Namibia are ranked 18th in the world for ODI's and are in the ICC intercontinental one day and 4 day competitions. They have a strong development program and decent facilities right throughout the country. Namibia finished very highly in the T20 qualifiers finishing 4th out of 16 teams. There u19 side is also ranked 16th in the world. This country has only one way to go and that is up.
